Soul Healing

How do you cure a soul bruise?

Some blows
strike so deeply
there's no obvious way
to relieve the pain and swelling.

Yet many of us will try
to put on a face which says,
It doesn't matter.

Others let their pain
wield them like a sword
clearing a path of destruction.

And still others
will bury their pain beneath
layers of unconscious living.

Of course the best remedy
is simply to tear yourself open
in the presence of a trusted witness,
and then show them your bruises
allowing both the light and
the power of communion
to heal your soul.
