We are
all in this together.
How else could we be?
Haven't you already tried
to step outside and into
something other?
Where did you go?
What did you learn there?
How did it feel?
Did you get lost
forgetting the way home?
Or have you tried to stay there?
Have you now come back?
Truly?
Is that you I’m seeing –
the same you who left?
Or is it a new you,
made different
by separation,
by solitude,
by humility,
and by the revelation
we’re all in this together?
(Are you still hungry?
Are you still homeless?
Are you still having trouble accepting
we’re all in this together?)
Two such as you with such a master speed
