Coming Back

Coming Back

...to where you once belonged.

Keeping coming back.

That's what they say,
and now find myself repeating
as I start this new day.

The cycle deepens
when I come back again,
and again, and again.

I come back until
it no longer matters
the day of the week,
the time of the day,
which season or even
for what reasons.

Coming back creates
the necessary time
within ample space
to absorb my urgency,
and to allow inside of me
everything and everyone
in everyday community.

No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.
~ James Allen
